Guernsey grunge trio Coastal Fire Dept. detonate their angriest, punkiest grunge long player yet.

‘Bonfire Of Fevoured Egos’ explodes on 1 September 2026 on L’islet Records. It’s a short, sharp blast of punk influenced grunge driven by the band’s new mantra: “Looser, punkier, grittier, louder.”

Following a string of singles, ‘Bonfire’ channels frontman Ollie Goddard’s deep lying anger at the world around him. Inflated egos, corrupt authorities, peddlers of hate, hypocrites, virtue-signallers and those that try to control us all find themselves in the crosshairs of his vocal attack.

Ollie admits “I had the melodies but was struggling for lyrical ideas. I hadn’t gone dry, I just wasn’t feeling anything…until I started to get angry at things.”.

The main musical influences for the album included classic 70’s punk plus a little Local H, Pixies and The Beatles.

The long player is anger filled front to back, dripping in energy and pace throughout the 22 mins of its perfectly formed blast of an album.

This is the latest in CFD’s musical shift to slightly harder ground and the next load of new music is already being worked on!
