Following up ‘Come Together’ is our next single ‘Everything’s Dead’.
Written and recorded under the band’s new mantra — “Looser, punkier, grittier, louder” — the track is a full-on sonic attack that doesn’t let up. As is common with CFD songs, it pairs that aggression with a massive, instantly catchy chorus built to stick.
Ollie delivers a cold, unflinching observation of declining high streets, disappearing community, screen-dominated interaction and the slow erosion of social norms. There are no proposed solutions — just the blunt recognition that something once alive now feels dead.
“‘Everything’s Dead’ is us staring at the rot.” says Ollie. “The shops are quiet, the conversations happen through screens and it feels like nobody’s really looking out for each other anymore. We’re not offering answers. We’re just saying it out loud.”
The B-side is a brand-new alternative version of fan favourite ‘Regret’ — this time without the robot voice of Vincent. It’s much closer to how the song is played live, in some ways it’s the proper version!
‘Everything’s Dead’ was released on 7 July across all major streaming platforms.
